Introducing SALSA plus Ice Cream!

SALSA are delighted to be working with The Ice Cream Alliance to offer ICA and SALSA members the SALSA plus Ice Cream Standard. This new Standard provides sector specific support to Ice Cream producers and will launch on the 1st September 2022.

Following the success of our plus Cheers and Beer modules, we have developed guidance that is tailored towards the ice cream industry, covering sector specific instruction on cleaning and the types of chemicals, compositional standards, microbiology, verification and validation of volumes -  amongst other key areas.

Simon Tasker, Technical Consultant to the Ice Cream Alliance explains “The Ice Cream Industry has many unique practices in the way it manufactures and handles products.This accreditation scheme will be open to ICA members, as another way of supporting them in their food safety management and pushing the quality of industry to greater heights than it is already.”

The Ice Cream Alliance will also be developing a bespoke quality manual, that will include key template documents, to help businesses more easily implement and achieve SALSA plus Ice Cream certification.
