Cotswold Gold was founded by Charlie Beldam in 2010 after graduating from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. Charlie's ambition was to develop a British alternative to olive oil that would be both healthy and sustainable. The company produces extra virgin cold pressed rape seed oil using seed grown on Charlie's family farm in Gloucestershire. The oil is extracted using traditional cold pressing methods that preserve the nutritional content of the grain to create a delicately flavored, vibrantly coloured oil. Cotswold Gold can be used for all cooking needs from salad dressings and dips through to high temperature frying, making it the most versatile oil on the market. As well as a loyal following in households, who purchase the oil through farm shops and delis, Cotswold Gold is a staple in many restaurants and the kitchens of top chefs including Raymond Blanc, Martin Blunos, James Martin and Simon Rogan to name a few. Cotswold Gold is a healthy alternative to other cooking oils on the market because of its range of nutritional benefits including: high levels of omegas 3, 6, 9 and vitamin E, less than half the saturated fat of olive oil and very low cholesterol (0.1%). A range of Cotswold Gold products have been developed including naturally infused cold pressed rapeseed oils such as lemon, chilli, garlic, rosemary and smoked as well as an award winning white truffle oil. More recently Cotswold Gold launched a range of versatile mayonnaise and 'Drizzle' dressings. Cotswold Gold utilizes its byproducts by selling its waste oil for bio-diesel and its remnant grain husks for animal feed.
