Do I Qualify?

All SALSA Auditors and Mentors must pre-qualify by being accepted on to the IFST Register of Professional Auditors and Mentors (PFAM).  To access the PFAM information and application pages from the IFST website, click the link at the bottom of this page.

The requirements for PFAM registration ensure the high level of qualification, training and experience appropriate for an important food safety certification scheme.  This protects the reputation of the scheme and its stakeholders, ensures a minimum standard and encourages wide acceptance by food buyers with due-diligence concerns associated with local sourcing.

You may apply to join SALSA as an approved Auditor and or Mentor while your PFAM application is in progress as this can take up to 12 weeks to process.  If you do not qualify as an Auditor by the PFAM criteria, you may still register as a Mentor if you have suitable qualifications and experience.

SALSA Auditors and Mentors must attend a regional induction seminar, held on a regional basis before their approval can be confirmed and any work allocated.  Successful applicants will be invited to attend these seminars by SALSA.  You may apply to become a SALSA Auditor & Mentor if you are self-employed, contractually assigned or employed as long as you are able to meet the conditions for the SALSA Code of Conduct when engaged on SALSA activities.
