Code of Conduct

Upon registration, all SALSA Auditors and Mentors agree to be bound by and act in accordance with the following Code of Conduct:

  1. To act in an honest, trustworthy and unbiased manner in relation to both SALSA and to the company or organisation to which you are employed, contracted or otherwise formally engaged for the purpose of auditing or mentoring to the SALSA standard.
  2. Not to act in any way prejudicial to the reputation, interests or credibility of SALSA and SALSA stakeholders.
  3. To disclose to SALSA any relationships you may have with the company or organisation to be audited before accepting or undertaking any auditing or mentoring work on behalf of SALSA or the company or organisation.  Mentors may not, under the rules of the SALSA scheme, perform a SALSA approval audit for the same company or organisation.
  4. Not to accept any inducement, gift, commission, or any other profit or incentive from the company or organisation audited or mentored, either directly or indirectly from their representatives, or from any other interested party.
  5. Not to disclose the findings, or any part of them, of a SALSA approval audit for which you are responsible, or any other information gained in the course of auditing or mentoring to any third party, unless authorised by both the company or organisation and SALSA to do so.
  6. In the event of any alleged breach of this code, or the receipt by SALSA of a formal complaint or appeal from a company or organisation audited or mentored by you, to co-operate fully in any formal enquiry procedure.
